EmberKiln mascot kit — SUPERSEDED
⚠️ Retired with the name. This kit's mascot — "Al, a Trope" (a deadpan everyman whose gag was that "Allotrope" ≈ "Al, a trope" and who taught the "AL-uh-trope" pronunciation) — was built entirely on the retired brand name Allotrope. It does not carry over to EmberKiln: there's no pun, no pronunciation problem, and "Al" no longer connects to anything.
The full original creative (scripts, character-sheet prompts, the Scene Studio dogfood plan) is preserved in git history (pre-2026-06-25, under
ALLOTROPE_AL_MASCOT_KIT.md). Don't try to revive it for EmberKiln.
What an EmberKiln mascot/identity would need (TBD)
A new mascot — if one is wanted at all — should grow from the kiln/ember
metaphor (firing raw material into finished form; firelit craft; the "oldest way
to tell a story, the newest way to make one" positioning), not a pronunciation
gag. This is creative design work, tracked alongside the EmberKiln visual
identity (the logo/mark/palette — see D4 in
.claude/handoffs/2026-06-24-allotrope-to-emberkiln-rename.md). No code.
Note on the "Al, a trope" dogfood example
The pipeline / Production IR docs (EMBERKILN_PIPELINE_ARCHITECTURE.md,
EMBERKILN_PRODUCTION_IR_DESIGN.md) reference "Al, a trope" as a concrete
worked example (a short monologue used to dogfood the render pipeline). Those
references point to that specific legacy artifact by name and are left as-is —
it's a test fixture's proper name, not brand copy. If the example is regenerated
under the new brand, rename it there.
