⛈️☂️ The Storm — "The breakup talk"
Shared conventions (specs, sound arc, brand rules, aspect reframes, AI porting notes) live in README.md. This file is the scenario.
Promotes: https://www.hivejournal.com/rehearsal-room/shared/breaking-up-kindly Fear-creature: ⛈️ storm (the imagined catastrophe) · Payoff: ☂️ umbrella Logline: Dreading the breakup talk, you brace for a hurricane — but rehearsal calms the storm to a quiet drizzle, and you both walk out dry. Persona (from the share): Alex — goes quiet and flat when things get hard; you don't want to leave a wound that won't close. The prepared line (the calm payoff turn): "I've made a hard decision about us — and you deserve to hear it from me, clearly and without blame."
⚠️ Tone: this is the tender one. The joke is our catastrophizing, never the partner or the pain. Keep Alex sympathetic; the storm is the dread, not them.
The metaphor
The fear here isn't aggression, it's catastrophe — "it'll blow up, it'll be a disaster." So the fear-creature is a storm: a tiny dark cloud over the person's head that swells into a room-filling thunderstorm (lightning, wind, papers whipping). Rehearsal calms it to a gentle drizzle, then clears; the cloud shrinks to a small, soft, almost-apologetic puff that hands over an umbrella — you both stay dry. Bittersweet, not a "win." It maps to the real result: still present, wants clarity.
Treatment (26s)
| Time | Visual | On-screen text | Audio |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0:00–0:02 | A quiet living-room "stage" (two chairs, lamp, spotlight) breathes to life | "You, about to end it:" | ominous drone |
| 0:02–0:05 | A tiny dark cloud pops over the person's head, then swells into a roaring indoor thunderstorm — lightning crack, wind, cushions flying | — | thunderclap + record-scratch |
| 0:05–0:09 | Storm rages: rain indoors, the person hunched against the wind, a chair tips over | "(It's a conversation. Not a hurricane.)" | howling wind, chaos stings |
| 0:09–0:12 | Cut to real Rehearsal Room screen-capture, scrolling Alex's persona + approaches | "So they rehearsed it first." | wind drops; music turns warm |
| 0:12–0:17 | Person sits calm; the storm softens to a gentle drizzle, lightning fades to a warm lamp glow, the cloud shrinks and droops | "Tried a few ways in. Saw how each might land." | rain softening, hopeful |
| 0:17–0:20 | Person speaks the prepared line, evenly and kindly, to the empty second chair | — | last raindrops |
| 0:20–0:24 | The little cloud, now soft and small, holds out an umbrella; the person takes it; a tiny rainbow flickers | "Same storm. Different you." → "You both stay dry. ☂️" | triumphant-but-gentle sting |
| 0:24–0:26 | End card on the room bg + logo | "A rehearsal, not a crystal ball — but you walk in ready." → "Rehearse the conversation → hivejournal.com/rehearsal-room" | resolve |
Alt endings: Honest-bittersweet — the cloud doesn't fully clear; it drifts to the second chair and rains quietly there too: "Some of it you can't make painless. You can make it kind." · Meta button (+2s) — the umbrella opens to reveal it's printed with the Rehearsal Room logo.

Veo 3 prompt sheet
Style anchor with room = "quiet living room (two chairs, a lamp)". Reference still of the actor for consistency; feed Shot 1's last frame into Shot 2.
SHOT 1 — Quiet room (~3s)
Slow push-in on a quiet living-room stage — two chairs and a warm lamp under a soft
spotlight, dark theatrical backdrop, still and a little tense, no people. [style anchor]
Audio: a low ominous drone, rising slightly.
SHOT 2 — Storm erupts (~4s) [start image: Shot 1 last frame]
A tiny dark rain cloud pops into existence above a seated person's head, then rapidly
swells into a roaring indoor thunderstorm — a lightning flash, gusting wind, cushions
and papers whipping through the room; the person flinches and hunches. Comedic but
dramatic, obviously a playful VFX storm, not scary. [style anchor]
Audio: a sudden thunderclap, then a vinyl record-scratch.
SHOT 3 — Storm rages (~4s)
Indoor rain pours, wind howls, a chair tips over, the person braces against the gusts,
spotlit and theatrical. Playful disaster energy. [style anchor]
Audio: howling wind, chaotic comedic stings.
SHOT 4 — (real screen-capture, do NOT generate) Rehearsal Room breaking-up-kindly share.
SHOT 5 — Storm softens (~6s)
The person sits calm; the indoor thunderstorm softens to a gentle drizzle, lightning
fades into a warm lamp glow, and the storm cloud shrinks and droops, almost
apologetic. Light warms from cold blue to gold. [style anchor]
Audio: rain softening, music turning warm and hopeful.
SHOT 6 — The line (~4s)
Medium shot: the person speaks evenly and kindly to an empty second chair: "I've made
a hard decision about us — and you deserve to hear it from me, clearly and without
blame." [style anchor]
SHOT 7 — The umbrella (~5s)
The small soft storm cloud drifts down and holds out a closed umbrella with a wisp of
vapor; the person gently accepts it; a tiny rainbow flickers in the warm light.
Bittersweet, gentle, a little funny. [style anchor]
Audio: a soft, gentle triumphant sting.
SHOT 8 — End card (build in CapCut): room bg + logo + ☂️ + URL.
