Internships at Point Seven Studio

Paid. Fully remote. Async-first. The bar is the work — apply with the actual writing / production / community pitch instead of a resume. We respond to every application.

Universe Content Creators

Write inside the shared-lore worlds that publish on Graphene Studio.

~10–20 hrs / week·Fully remote · async-first

Graphene publishes audiobooks inside shared-lore universes — interconnected worlds where multiple novels reference the same canon. Turing Logs (cold institutional sci-fi) and Deep Cut (meta-fictional recursion + embedded commercials) are the two live today. This role expands the universes: you write new short fiction, side characters, lore documents, and connective tissue between novels. Your work directly seeds future audiobooks the studio produces — credited, paid, and treated as canon.

What you'd do
  • ·Read every published audiobook in the assigned universe so canon stays consistent across your contributions
  • ·Write 4-8 pieces per month: short fiction, character backstories, lore documents, in-universe ephemera (commercials, news clippings, internal memos)
  • ·Maintain a "bible" of canon decisions for your universe so other writers (and the AI prose-generation pipeline) inherit them automatically
  • ·Sit in on weekly Friday review with the founding team — what worked, what to fold into the audiobook pipeline next
Who fits
  • ·Writes fiction seriously — has at least one finished novella / collection / serialized project to show, even if unpublished
  • ·Reads widely in the universe's genre (sci-fi for Turing Logs, literary / meta-fiction for Deep Cut) and can speak to specific influences
  • ·Comfortable with serialized format — chapter-by-chapter, not novel-in-one-deliverable
  • ·Treats canon as a constraint that improves the work, not a cage to escape
How to apply

Email a 500-1,200 word piece you're proud of (any genre, any age) + a paragraph on which universe interests you and why.

Audiobook Production Assistant

Help Graphene Studio creators ship clean, mastered audiobooks.

~10–15 hrs / week·Fully remote · async-first

Graphene Studio renders chapter audio through a multi-stage pipeline (LLM prose → TTS → ffmpeg mastering → ID3 metadata → distribution). When something sounds off, a human catches it before listeners do. This role is that human: spot-check chapter renders, flag dialogue attribution misfires, tune pronunciation lexicons per show, and help individual creators get unstuck in the production tools.

What you'd do
  • ·QC newly-rendered chapters from active creators — listen end-to-end, flag anything that sounds off
  • ·Maintain per-show pronunciation lexicons so character / place names land correctly
  • ·Field creator questions via the in-app support flow; route hard ones to engineering
  • ·Suggest pipeline improvements when patterns emerge (specific TTS quirks, mastering preferences for genre)
Who fits
  • ·Cares about audio. Has produced a podcast / audiobook / radio piece, or has the kind of ear that notices when audio is slightly off
  • ·Patient with creator support — most questions are workflow, not technical
  • ·Comfortable in admin / production tools (ffmpeg literacy is a bonus, not required)
How to apply

Email a link to an audio piece you produced (or a critique of an audiobook you found mediocre — what would you have done differently?).

Community & Growth Intern

Grow the listener community across Graphene + WriteCafe.

~8–12 hrs / week·Fully remote · async-first

Two consumer surfaces with real audiences but no dedicated growth person: Graphene needs listeners to find the shows; WriteCafe needs writers to find the tables. This role connects those audiences to the work — running cross-promotion between properties, identifying communities where the right listeners hang out, and writing the social posts / newsletter sections that surface new releases.

What you'd do
  • ·Draft the weekly "what dropped" recap for Graphene + WriteCafe
  • ·Identify subreddits, Discord servers, and Bluesky communities where the right audiences live; participate authentically (no spam)
  • ·Coordinate with creators on launch posts when new audiobooks ship — what hooks work, what art goes where
  • ·Track what drives listens vs. what doesn't and report findings monthly
Who fits
  • ·Active in at least one online community where audiobook listeners / writers gather
  • ·Writes well in short form (one paragraph that makes you click)
  • ·Allergic to growth hacking. Comfortable saying no to channels that don't fit the brand
How to apply

Email a short pitch: one community you'd connect Graphene with, plus the exact first post you'd write there.
